Park Maintenance 1 - Seasonal
NEOGOV is seeking seasonal park maintenance workers for the Public Utility District No. 1 of Chelan County. The role involves performing various landscape and maintenance duties in parks, including mowing, cleaning, and equipment operation, while ensuring the upkeep of public facilities and grounds.

Responsibilities
Landscape Maintenance: Debris hauling, leaf removal, planting/barking, sod, shrub care, weeding, tilling, trail and road edging, turf aerating, turf mowing, turf sweeping, turf maintenance, turf thatching, and weed eating
Custodial Maintenance: Garbage pickup, litter pickup, rubbish removal, restroom and shelter cleaning and sanitizing
Equipment Operation and Maintenance: perform weekly maintenance on equipment such as sharpening blades, greasing, and maintaining fluid levels. Operate large riding mowers, front-end loaders, tillers, power rakes, small snow removal equipment, mowing equipment, pruning equipment, athletic field equipment, pressure washers, etc
Recreation Area Maintenance: Baseball, basketball, horseshoe pits, soccer, play equipment, tennis, and volleyball. Grooming, raking, sweeping, trimming, line painting, layout, and managing ball field dust using a fire hose to wet the fields
Facility Care and Maintenance: painting, vandalism repair, assist Foreman or PM2 in carpentry and light bulb and or low voltage valve replacements as needed
Hard Surface Maintenance: Parking lots, drains, sidewalks, curbs, trail sweeping and edging
Marine Maintenance: Boat launch, docks and swim area debris removal and other routine maintenance as required
Sign Maintenance: General removal and replacement, graffiti removal, cleaning
Utilities Maintenance: irrigation, sprinklers, and swing joint repair and replacement. Lighting: bulb replacement, fixture cleaning
Administrative: Counter reading, safety/training, and special events. Campground registration duties, (handling money) Communicate with other staff as needed
Maintain regular and predictable attendance: Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Comply with District policies. Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC)
Qualification
Required
1 year experience with landscape and facility maintenance
A valid driver's license
A valid Washington State driver's license within 30 days
Working knowledge of techniques and basic tools associated with a variety of landscaping and park maintenance tasks
Working knowledge in using cleaning solutions and handling chemicals safely and efficiently
Requires mechanical maintenance skills
Requires good interpersonal and communication skills
Must be courteous, tactful and friendly to the public and coworkers at all times
Requires ability to operate equipment, mowers, edgers, sod cutters, blowers, weed eaters, etc
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a group or crew environment
To perform this job successfully, an individual will be able to safely operate heavy equipment, power equipment and other various manual tools or supplies including, but not limited to pickup trucks, Cushman turf carts, riding mowers, ladders, screwdrivers, wrenches, shovels, rakes, loppers, and brooms, various power tools including saws, drills, push mowers, and weed eaters, cleaning materials and supplies, painting supplies, and pest control equipment and supplies
Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
Preferred
1 year experience with landscape and facility maintenance preferred
Prefers ability to utilize technical drawings and blueprints to troubleshoot
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred
