Social Movement Technologies is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing organizing strategy and campaign support for justice movements in the digital age. They are seeking a Europe Movement Support Coordinator & Coach to provide campaign strategy and implementation support, build relationships with organizing networks, and develop online training across Europe.

Responsibilities

Provide a range of campaign strategy and implementation support for partner groups, with the support of senior SMT team members

Build and maintain relationships with a range of organizing networks

Develop new online training to meet movement needs across Europe

Build an instructor team of practitioners from across the continent and help to shape and do outreach

Keep your fingers on the pulse of new tech and digital developments in the enormous diversity of Europe, testing out tools and comparing them so that SMT can help European groups sift through the options and make choices appropriate to their needs

Required

You speak and write fluent English, as a non-negotiable, but ideally, speak another language dominant on the continent

You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant campaign experience in which you held responsibility that included digital campaigning

You have a knack for campaigning and understand what it takes to make a difference, including how to build power on the issue, who we need with us, messaging that will move people, and the steps to get you there

You have broad experience in running issue campaigns, for example doing your own memes with a sense for design and messaging, or setting up Facebook ad campaigns - not relying on other staffers for creative or ad setup, or building out a rigorous activist pipeline. You've worked as part of smaller and not just larger teams

You have experience with coaching and training people

You have management and organizational skills that enable you to keep a number of projects on track and delegate to other members of our team and contractors

You have previous experience working remotely, are highly self-motivated and need to be doing work that involves constant learning

You are an activist yourself, not just doing this work as paid employment

Preferred

Ideally you have a history of investing in roles for the long haul - we're looking for someone who wants to make SMT their home and build the work over multiple years
