Municipal Partnerships Manager
Avela is a Nobel Prize-winning, venture-backed, seed-stage edtech/govtech startup focused on increasing access to high quality education. They are seeking a Municipal Partnerships Manager to grow their business among municipalities across the United States, responsible for generating demand, building pipeline, and closing deals in the education sector.

Responsibilities
Work with our Go to Market team to grow our business among municipalities across the United States, including cities, counties, and states
Generate demand and build pipeline, including through direct outreach, field events, and marketing support
Own deals and work them through close
Sell across all use cases, with a particular focus on coordinated early childhood programs and our community hub solution
Understand Avela's go to market strategy and ideal customer profile (ICP)
Learn the Avela product inside and out
Master pricing and packaging
Build target lists matching ICP using tools like LinkedIn, RocketReach, Clay, and district websites
Send outbound emails
Make cold calls
Support marketing with outbound campaigns
Work charter conferences
Mine referral networks
Schedule meetings
Attend all meetings
Demo the product (and leverage specialists for high priority demos)
Leverage professional and technical services specialists
Build relationships with stakeholders and influencers
Understand decision-making process and political landscape
Follow up and check in with potential clients
Submit proposals and quotes
Engage in pricing and negotiation
Handle contracting and navigate procurement
Enter the information correctly into Hubspot
Confirm contract information is correctly synced with TABS
Monitor TABS to ensure invoices are paid
Coordinate internally to identify the CSM
Introduce the client to the CSM and implementation team
Join the first kick-off call to ensure smooth handoff to implementation team
Qualification
Required
Based in San Francisco Bay Area or Greater Boston
6+ years of full time professional experience
3+ years in city, county, or state administration role, preferably who has managed large-scale coordinated enrollment programs
Passion for education, equity, or social impact
Entrepreneurial spirit and drive, extraordinary comfort with ambiguity
Excellent communicator, including written and oral
Among the best at what you do with a growth mindset and desire to constantly improve
Legal ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship
