Engineering Manager

They are seeking a sheet metal Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team in the design, development, and continuous improvement of sheet metal fabrication processes and products.

Responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of engineers and designers. Set priorities, assign projects, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Oversee the design and development of sheet metal products from concept through production. Ensure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations, with a focus on cost-effective, manufacturable solutions
Improve fabrication processes—including laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, and finishing—using Lean and Six Sigma tools to increase efficiency and reduce waste
Serve as a technical point of contact for customers. Partner with sales, program management, and operations to align on project feasibility, cost, timelines, and quality
Manage engineering projects through all phases, ensuring on-time delivery and performance. Track progress, identify risks, and drive cross-functional coordination
Work closely with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to align resources, share updates, and ensure smooth project execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
7+ years of engineering experience in sheet metal fabrication, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and ERP/MRP systems
Proven track record of implementing Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and provide technical support directly to clients
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with Amada, Trumpf, or similar fabrication equipment
Familiarity with welding automation and robotics
Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis
Project management certification (PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus
