Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate new market opportunities through in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation
Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers aligned with Ajay North America’s growth objectives
Initiate and build relationships with prospective customers, serving as the primary commercial contact through early-stage engagement
Qualify opportunities and coordinate a structured handoff of new customers to the account-managing Sales Manager
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers through networking, industry events, referrals, and targeted outreach
Track, analyze, and report customer acquisition metrics, pipeline activity, and key performance indicators
Collaborate closely with the Sales Manager responsible for existing accounts and the Group Commercial Director to support broader sales and marketing initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in new customer acquisition, business development, or market expansion
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and commercial stakeholders
Self-driven, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
Preferred
MBA preferred
Experience or familiarity with the chemical manufacturing industry is a plus
