Restricted Funding Financial Manager
Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is seeking a Restricted Funding Financial Manager responsible for the financial management of restricted funding. The role includes managing revenue recognition, preparing financial reports, and supporting budget processes while ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines.

Responsibilities
Month-end Close
Manages revenue recognition process for PHS restricted funding sources including calculating staff allocations and indirect costs. Prepares supporting schedules and monthly journal entries
Prepares monthly project cost entry and supporting schedules
Analyzes general ledger postings related to restricted funding, identifies any errors and prepares appropriate correcting entries including expense reclasses, edits to staff allocations, indirect costs and revenue recognition postings
Prepares monthly/quarterly allocation entries for PHS health insurance, postage and fuel usage
Post-Close
Prepares monthly restricted funding financial reports and supporting schedules for both internal budget owners and external sponsors
Monitors restricted award spending and available balances at the project level, including loading bi-monthly available balance information in PHS award tracking system in Monday.com. Reviews expenses for adherence to budget and funding agency allowability
Assists with expense coding as well as questions related to expenses reconciliations and available balances
Sets up, edits and maintains department-level expense tracker workbooks as follow-up to meetings and emails
Sets up and maintains the restricted funding accounts in financial system (Projects cards), including entering and editing budgets
Supports Director of FP&A and Compliance in the annual projection and budget process including but not limited to the setup and maintenance of supporting schedules. Works with departments to ensure completeness of their submissions in budget system
Plays an active role in PHS’s restricted funding compliance program and maintains internal contract files
Actively supports annual year-end financial and single audit process
Qualification
Required
BS in Accountancy or Finance
Minimum of 5 years relevant, professional experience
Strong aptitude for financial tasks with developed skills working with financial details
Strong organizational, administrative abilities and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and follow-thru with requests from across the organization
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
Must maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information and use a high level of discretion when sharing financial information
Willingness to work as part a team
Performs all work in an organized, systematic manner
Excellent analytical skills
Possesses high level of problem-solving skills
Ability to learn and utilize multiple PHS systems and processes in order to perform role and meet responsibilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Independent and collaborative work style
Must be able to sit at a desk and looking at a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, and visual acuity
Requires ability to both provide and receive communicate effectively with staff members and project sponsors through spreadsheets, talking, listening and written communication
Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, filing cabinets, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed
Excellent customer service skills must be maintained at all times to ensure the optimal attendee, PHS member, and volunteer experience
Both in person and telephone interpersonal skills are necessary in order to provide information and assistance to attendees, PHS members, Flower Show volunteers and staff
Willingness to be flexible about work assignments
