Responsibilities

Produce consistently high-quality design on a wide variety of bridge projects, both large- and small-scale, including the design of steel and concrete vehicular and pedestrian bridges

Prepare and complete discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needs including production, design, shop drawing review, quantities, cost estimates, construction administration, and final specifications, ensuring that work is accurate and in accordance with good engineering codes and specifications

Conduct field observations and data collection activities

Periodically provide on-site visits to inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with project specifications or other regulations and effectively communicate and coordinate with other team members regarding schedule progress on assigned tasks

Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions

Required

5 years of experience in the design of all components of steel and concrete bridges

Proficiency in layout and design of conventional and complex bridge structures

Proficiency in MicroStation/OpenBridge and Leap Bridge software

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required

Valid Driver's License required

Preferred

Experience working with NCDOT projects preferred
