The Chamber of Catawba County is seeking an Events & Marketing Manager who is creative, strategic, and highly organized. Responsibilities

Plan and execute our professional, mission-driven events that convene business and community leaders for strategic purposes
Lead logistics, timelines, budgets, vendors, and contracts for events such as First Friday Morning Brew, Women’s Leadership Conference, Annual Golf Classic, Future of Catawba County Summit, and support for Leadership Catawba
Design event experiences that reflect professional excellence, intentional outcomes, and strong attention to detail
Manage multiple events simultaneously while navigating shifting priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations
Communicate clearly and proactively with internal team members, partners, sponsors, and vendors to ensure a seamless experience
Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that advance The Chamber’s mission and priorities
Personally create and manage content across platforms, including social media (posts, graphics, short-form video/reels), email marketing, website content, blogs, press releases, and other special campaigns
Translate strategy into action—this role does not manage a marketing team; you are the team
Use performance metrics to evaluate, refine, and strengthen engagement and reach
Maintain brand consistency while bringing creativity and storytelling to all communications efforts

Required

3–5 years of professional, hands-on experience in event planning, project management, marketing and/or communications
Demonstrated experience leading and executing professional events as a primary job function
Proven ability to develop marketing strategy and execute it personally
Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management, and basic graphic design (Canva or similar tools)
Experience creating engaging visual and video content, including short-form video/reels
Proven experience managing event budgets, vendors, and contracts
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently, take ownership, and follow through
Passion for community, business growth, and meaningful connection

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field preferred (Associate degree or other industry-specific credentials considered with relevant experience)
