Responsibilities

Lead the FMEA, HARA, and safety architecture of Electrical Control Units
Serve as the Safety expert in safety critical cross-functional design decisions
Collaborate with system engineers and hardware design engineers to develop and document hardware level functional safety requirements
Work with design engineers to characterize architectures and decompose module level requirements into ECU level requirements
Apply essential experience in functional safety to derive Safety requirements, technical safety concepts, FMEDA (Failure Mode Effects & Diagnostic Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), DFA (Dependent Failure Analysis) and PMHF (Probability Metric for Hardware Failure) to meet functional safety requirements
Collaborate with Reliability organization in defining mission profiles based on vehicle use cases
Authoring and reviewing high-level safety documentation
Driving functional safety design processes across the organization and be part of safety culture within the organization

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years or a Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
Minimum 7+ years of experience working in functional safety, system safety, or safety engineering in automotive, industrial or aerospace
Working knowledge to develop ECU hardware based on ISO 26262:2018 Part 5 and ISO 26262:2018 Part 11 or IEC 61508 Part 1, 2 & 3
Strong understanding of failure mode analysis of complex electrical designs and ASICs
Handling advanced electronics design and analyzing advanced electrical circuits
Extensive knowledge and application of Safety Analysis methodologies using industry-standard tools, from functional system level to HW and SW component level: FTA, FMEDA, DFA, SW FMEA, STPA, SPFM/LFM, and PMHF
Working within a cross-functional teams- hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and proven record of working on multiple projects involving safety engineering
Applying knowledge of advanced electrical systems and tools to meet functional safety requirements
Driving functional safety design processes across the organization
