Responsibilities

Screen Referrals for Admission to Hospital-Purchased Beds: This position gathers referrals from various sources to include the referral table, Admissions Program Director at CMHHIP, CMHHIFL, Court Services, various county jails, and various databases. This position uses established criteria to determine admissions, transfers, and discharges to and from the hospital-purchased beds in a timely and efficient manner. This position analyzes information including records and psychological assessments and uses clinical judgment to make decisions regarding placement needs. This position needs to respond quickly to the changing needs of a patient’s placement or the program and frequently is required to make decisions based on clinical judgment and expertise. This position assesses referrals for transfer to and from the State hospitals/private hospital partnerships/jail-based programs and determines if those referrals are appropriate, as well as the level of urgency of the transfer. These duties serve the hospital-purchased beds
Work Lead to Health Professional III’s for Admission to Jail-Based Beds: This position will assist Health Professional III’s in using established criteria to determine admissions, transfers, and discharges to and from jail-based restoration beds in a timely and efficient manner. Additionally, this position will assist Health Professional IIIs in delineating appropriateness between jail-based restoration programs and hospital-purchased beds. This position will analyze information including records and psychological assessments, and use clinical judgment to make decisions and advise Health Professional IIIs regarding placement and transfer needs. This position will need to respond quickly to the changing needs of a patient’s placement or the program and frequently will be required to make decisions based on clinical judgment and expertise
Program Implementation and Monitoring Contractor Performance: This position serves as the contract monitor for program performance using program and individual client data, site visits, and audits to assess contractor performance at the hospital-purchased bed locations. Along with the Clinical Director, this position will take a primary role in audits of private hospital partnerships, and will take a primary role in clinical oversight and support to private hospital partnerships. In addition, this position will support site visits and audits for jail-based restoration locations. Promotes operational and administrative compliance with appropriate CDHS policies and procedures. This position serves as the liaison between the contractors, CDHS court services department, CMHHIP, CMHHIFL, private hospital partnerships, CDHS outpatient restoration department, and the Director of Jail Based Restoration. This position will participate in on-call responsibilities during weekends and evenings for situations that require an immediate response. This position will assist with data collection, tracking, analyzing, and interpreting. This position assists with reporting to OCFMH and CDHS management about the program's performance and compliance with policies and procedures
Admission Coordination and Reporting: This position will Collaborate with the various stakeholders, including state psychiatric facilities, county jails, agents of the courts, contractors, court services employees, CMHHIP admissions program, CMHHIP legal-medical records, and CMHIP DPS transport to ensure essential information is communicated as needed for admissions, discharges, and continuity of care. This position may assist the Program Assistant with aspects of communication that may overlap and/or correlate with one another. This position will assist with data tracking, collection, and reporting to CDHS and OCFMH. In addition, this position will contribute to and participate in presentations regarding jail based restoration services and will remain informed of relevant competency evaluation and restoration trends and research. This position will impart information regarding the aforementioned research/strategies to the various contractors and serve as a consultant and liaison to the various treatment provider
Other Duties as Assigned: Any other duties that may arise and need to be completed by this position and/or for the Forensic Services Division

Required

Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position equal to seven (7) years
Master's level education in mental health/social work-related field (e.g., clinical psychology, forensic psychology, etc.)
Current license as a Clinical Social Worker with the Board of Social Work Examiners or a current license as a Professional Counselor with the Colorado Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners
Must comply with all CDHS vaccination and testing requirements

Preferred

Experience with competency to stand trial and work with the severe and persistently mentally ill in acute settings
Excellent computer skills including fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint,), Gmail, and Google Applications, and the ability to quickly learn new software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in both independent and team situations
Ability to prioritize work tasks independently and collaborate with team members
