Responsibilities

Provide engineering and technical support during C&A, operational testing, and deployment, ensuring alignment with AFNet standards

Lead the design, development, and implementation of IT infrastructure and application architectures for AFIN

Analyze and define enterprise-level technical and business requirements for IT solutions across DAF systems

Develop architectural proposals for various initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals

Provide expert input on project initiation, including defining scope, approach, objectives, and deliverables

Manage and guide the Server Consolidation Environment (SCE) program, overseeing virtual infrastructure services at multiple AF bases

Ensure proper integration and migration of SAN and NAS storage technologies, focusing on scalability and performance optimization

Oversee virtual infrastructure management utilizing VMware’s Virtual Infrastructure Enterprise modules (ESX, Virtual Center, Vmotion, etc.)

Develop and communicate technical requirements and quality attributes for system architecture, ensuring adherence to security policies

Lead technical design sessions and provide guidance to development teams to ensure compliance with architectural standards

Validate system performance through continuous monitoring, optimization, and refinement of architecture

Provide architecture documentation and maintain traceability between system requirements and technical designs

Oversee backup and recovery operations for enterprise applications using OEM tools

Coordinate with stakeholders and base personnel to ensure the effective deployment and maintenance of virtual and physical servers

Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex architectural and system issues

Collaborate with leadership to communicate architectural decisions and their operational implications

Ensure that all proposed solutions align with enterprise security standards and IT frameworks, including EITaaS efforts

Continuously seek opportunities to improve productivity, reduce time-to-market, and enhance solution quality
