5+ years expAkkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a Direct Hire with a client. The ideal candidate will conduct site walks, create accurate estimates and SOWs, and leverage Bluebeam and AutoCAD to deliver comprehensive project documentation.

Responsibilities
Conduct pre-planned site walks (1–2 every two weeks) to assess project requirements
Prepare accurate estimates, quotes, and detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for AV integration projects
Utilize Bluebeam and AutoCAD for design documentation and project planning
Collaborate with account managers during presales activities to define technical solutions and ensure smooth project handoff
Participate in post-sales sync-ups and kickoff meetings to align stakeholders and confirm project scope
Lead technical discussions with clients, ensuring compliance with federal/government system requirements and security standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5+ years of presales AV commercial integration design experience
Expertise with core AV manufacturers including Crestron, Q-Sys, and Extron
