Responsibilities
Rapid Prototyping: Turn theory into code. You will lead early development initiatives by coding and scripting rapid prototypes (using tools like Zeek, Suricata, and AI/LLMs) to prove that a problem can be solved before we commit engineering scale
Strategic Evangelism: You will be the voice of innovation. By demonstrating working proofs-of-concept, you will influence the strategic direction of Corelight Labs and Engineering, while getting customers excited about the future of NDR
Unlock Hidden Value: Apply your curiosity to our existing platform. You will find novel ways to combine current telemetry with AI/ML to solve customer pain points that traditional product cycles might miss
Data-Driven Decisions: De-risk our roadmap through experimentation. You will prove technical feasibility and market viability through fast-paced testing, ensuring we invest in solutions that truly stop attackers
Qualification
Required
10+ years in cybersecurity with a track record in technical leadership (e.g., CTO, VP Security, or Lead Researcher)
Understanding of the SOC, the CISO mindset, and the adversary
Deep understanding of Layer 2-7, encryption challenges, and how tools like Zeek/Suricata function
Capability of scripting and coding (Python/Go) to build automation tools and POCs
7+ years experience in rapid development across a full stack environment, including cloud, containers, orchestration, and modern programming languages (golang preferred)
Active experimentation with AI/LLMs for security use cases (e.g., risk scoring, automated hunting)
Experience speaking at major conferences (BlackHat, RSA, BSides) or working as an analyst/advisor
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to any audience
Degrees in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical disciplines (or equivalent experience)
