Responsibilities
Following all safety rules and practices
Reading factory work orders, print cards, and other documents to learn customer requirements
Identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders
Performing assigned duties to insure that production needs are met
Assisting other associates as needed
Accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment
Inspecting, counting, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications
Identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject) products and materials
Accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records
Keeping the supervisor informed of any problems and/or unusual situations
Maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping
Maintaining teamwork with machine crews and other associates
Performing other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualification
Required
The ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation
The ability to read, write, and speak English
The ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler
The ability to use basic shop math
The ability to learn
The ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to detect, prevent, and resolve quality issues
Must be able to read a standard tape measure, read and thoroughly understand job specifications, and follow written and oral directions
Must be a self-starter, able to operate from directions or independently as needed
Demonstrated ability to add and subtract all units of measure read and copy figures, and count and record figures
A comprehension level is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in English in written or oral form and to deal with problems
Constant standing, walking, and reaching at or below shoulder level
Frequent twisting, bending, and lifting from the ground
Repetitive lifting up to 35 pounds
Must be willing and able to work daily and weekly overtime, including weekends, as business conditions require
Must be willing to accept direction from the Operator to insure the most efficient operation possible
