Project Engineer

Responsibilities
You will provide engineering and project support for process and specialty gas operations
In this role, you will work independently and collaboratively with the engineering team to manage projects from concept through start-up
Provide technical guidance to plant operations, develop innovative solutions for process and plant challenges, and ensure projects meet safety, cost, and compliance standards
You will develop project plans by reviewing proposals, objectives, and requirements
Determine project scope, schedule, and resource needs; sequence project elements
Execute project plans, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues
Additionally you will control project costs, approve expenditures, and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and government regulations
Participate in final field safety inspections
Troubleshoot plant process equipment and implement solutions
You will also prepare technical deliverables, including designs, layouts, equipment lists, and fabrication/construction packages
Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure successful project execution
Maintain thorough knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices
You should demonstrate high levels of design and leadership capability, a focus on safety, strong verbal and written communication skills, a team-oriented focus, and the ability to find innovative technical solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
At least 5+ years of engineering experience
Familiarity with design codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI)
Ability to read civil, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation construction drawings
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% per year
Experience creating mechanical equipment drawings
Knowledge of safety and operability best practices
Innovative problem-solving and contingency planning
Demonstrate high levels of design and leadership capability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team-oriented focus
