Start in 2026 SummerZeta Global is an AI-Powered Marketing Cloud company seeking an IP Legal Intern for the Summer of 2026. The intern will engage in various aspects of Zeta’s intellectual property program, including legal research, patent application drafting, and IP portfolio management.

Responsibilities
Perform legal research on emerging IP and AI policy issues
Identify opportunities to develop new or adopt existing AI tools to streamline IP workflows
Review existing IP portfolio and identify potential red flags
Assist with invention harvesting to identify new invention ideas
Prepare drafts of claim amendments and arguments for USPTO office actions
Prepare drafts of new patent applications
Help negotiate with USPTO patent examiners to streamline prosecution of pending applications
Prepare drafts of descriptions of goods and services for new trademark applications
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in computer science, software development, machine learning, or AI
Demonstrate a strong interest in IP law, AI policy, or the intersection of law and technology
Demonstrate an interest in digital marketing, consumer data, AI, or internet advertising
Ability to research legal and business issues and learn new concepts quickly
Strong desire to learn more about patent drafting and ideally some experience writing patent applications
Preferred
Completion of some IP-related coursework preferred
