Information Security Specialist, Senior Level/Information Assurance / Security Engineer - C

Responsibilities
Provide support for the PMO deployed enterprise ACAS infrastructure, assisting sites in preparation for CCRI (CORA)
Maintain base/site lists and Internet Protocol host counts to ensure compliance
Conduct remote scanning and remediation support for sites
Ensure effective communication with teams critical to ACAS operations, such as Base Boundary and Network Operations
Report compliance data via ACAS to the Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring system (CMRS)
Facilitate the transition of ACAS Security Centers to the new virtual infrastructure
Author custom security policies and perform systems analysis for complex IT applications
Participate in all software life cycle phases, emphasizing planning, programming, and testing
Assist in authoring configuration files and signatures to enhance vulnerability discovery capabilities
Support implementation of DISA’s Information Assurance and Vulnerability Management programs
Assist with DISA-released software patches, updates, and upgrades
Deploy and manage additional systems via Satellite Server on a limited basis
Support pilot programs for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) and Passive Vulnerability Scanner
Utilize the Automated Remediation and Asset Discovery (ARAD) system for patching and monitoring
Deploy and support Log Correlation Engine (LCE) to consolidate backend infrastructure logs
Generate ACAS reporting as necessary
Design and implement security measures to prevent data breaches and develop data recovery plans
Monitor network activity for abnormalities and communicate findings to IT teams
Review security files to ensure proper data access and authorization
Modify security files to manage user access and correct errors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Successful completion of the DISA ACAS 32-Hour Course
Certified Information Assurance (IA) Technician (IAT) Level II (DODM 8140)
Linux+ or equivalent (i.e., LPIC-1)
Valid DoD Secret clearance is required
US citizenship
Preferred
A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably on Department of Defense (DoD) programs
Experience managing, implementing, and administering Tenable/Nessus
RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
