Responsibilities

Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly Customer Service
Assists customers by making product suggestions
Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom announcements and one-on-one customer interaction
Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately. Receive and appropriately resolves customer complaints and reports to Store Director as needed
Assists with planning nightly operations, monitoring production process following company procedures and profitability
Builds Grocery displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product. Ensures cleanliness of work area and department
Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays. Assists with coordinating grocery sales promotions
Ensures that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed and that shelves are clean and properly maintained
Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements
Monitors employee’ productivity
Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Including but not limited to Opening/Closing duties, Dairy and Frozen
Supervise, train and assign duties to department employees
Train employees in store policies, sales and record keeping procedures
Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook
Responsible for insuring proper code dating for all products within the department are being enforced
May assist with physical inventory taken every 6 months
Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality and freshness and maintains inventory levels according to division directives. Stocks and rotates product
Supervises the processing of all reclamation as well as maintains orderly and in stock conditions in back room and all Grocery Department areas
Controls shrink and cost
Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters and Sterilox machine
Performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortage, stocking and rotating product. Adheres to product temperature and storage guidelines and follows proper packaging techniques. Processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate department records
Accurately completes maintains and monitor daily log sheet, sales and labor and other required paperwork and logs
Ensures that proper temperature levels for product are maintained. Complies with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, Company and code dating policies
