CHRISTUS Health is a healthcare organization seeking an Instrument Tech for their Sterile Processing department. The role involves performing instrument processing activities, including decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments to ensure their availability for patient care.

Responsibilities

Performs instrument processing activities, decontamination, assembly, sterilization (steam and plasma) and restocking of instruments to remote locations to insure availability to areas providing direct patient care

Ensures that personal performance and service quality levels meet or exceed customer expectations and perceptions

Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Completion of medical terminology after hire

Constant exposure to bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, steam, sharp punctures and stress

Heavy lifting required, bending, pushing supply and instrument carts, standing for extended periods

Preferred

Working to obtain national certification encouraged

Operation of ultrasonic washer, steam autoclave, washer-sterilizer and washer-decontaminator preferred

Instrument processing experience preferred
