Missouri River Energy Services is a joint action agency supporting municipalities that own and operate their own electric distribution systems. They are seeking a student for a full-time summer internship in their Operations team, where the intern will learn about energy market activities, settlements, and data analysis related to electric utility operations.

Responsibilities

In this position you will learn all the group functions related to energy market activities and operations, Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) settlements, energy accounting, economic analysis, and other data analysis and reporting

You will also have the opportunity to be exposed to wholesale electric utility operations including generation resources, energy scheduling, and transmission

Qualification

Microsoft OfficeExcelPower BIData AnalysisAnalytical SkillsCommunication Skills

Required

Familiar with Microsoft Office applications

Experience working with datasets using software such as Excel is a plus

Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, or related software is a plus

Solid analytical skills and attention to detail

High school diploma and enrolled for higher education pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or closely related major

Strong verbal and written communication skills
