New Grad, Entry LevelIMCS Group is seeking a Financial Advocate to join their team. The primary function of the Financial Advocate is to perform financial screenings for patients and serve as the main contact for patient education regarding insurance benefits and billing processes.
Staffing & Recruiting
Responsibilities
Perform a thorough financial screening of patients
Ensure that all accounts have been cleared for billing
Obtain insurance authorization for services
Secure payment arrangements (including collection of co-payment/coinsurance) prior to patient discharge and for major outpatient services
Identify other potential payment sources (including Financial Assistance program, initiating/completing the Medical Assistance application process)
Provide costs estimates
Qualification
Required
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Effective organizational skills, including ability to prioritize, problem solve, and resolve conflict
Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with patients and families
Advanced knowledge of insurance, including government assistance programs
Must be able to work under considerable stress, using tact and diplomacy
