Responsibilities

Administering all aspects of the transitional work and case management program
Communicating with employees, departments, medical providers and external partners
Providing resources and training to managers and employees regarding Workers’ Compensation benefits and processes
Working closely and collaboratively with Occupational Health Services, Ergonomics, Disability Management Services, HR Leaves of Absence, and department leaders
Upholding compliance standards with state and federal laws and university policies
Serving as the back up to the Workers’ Compensation Analyst positions and department manager as necessary

Required

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent workers' compensation experience / training
Five (5) years of California Workers' Compensation claims administration and case management experience
Experience working with diverse populations who may be in crisis and/or needing time sensitive responses to information requests
Experience working with HIPPA protected information and knowledge of medical terminology
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Smartsheet, and Outlook to generate correspondence, analyze data, create reports, and build presentations
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Prior medical/hospital work experience
Thorough knowledge in California Workers' Compensation regulations
Proven interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, active listening skills, and organizational skills
Proven ability to concisely present complex workers' compensation and injury information, and make recommendations verbally and in writing
Proven ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems
Strong skills required to develop and communicate California Workers' Compensation and internal processes effectively to diverse populations

Preferred

Workers' Compensation, Risk Management or an equivalent injury prevention certification preferred
