POLICY AND PROGRAMS MANAGER (Program Manager II)
The State of Maryland is seeking a Policy and Programs Manager for the Behavioral Health Administration. This role is responsible for managing multiple overdose and infectious disease prevention programs, overseeing public health policies, and collaborating with various agencies to enhance community health initiatives.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Management of multiple overdose and infectious disease prevention programs within the BHA Division of Prevention and Promotion
Oversees development and implementation of public health policies and programs
Sets program goals and objectives
Determines organizational structure and staffing needs of program administration units
Supervises program administrators
Serves as a subject matter expert on overdose and infectious disease prevention services
Supports collaborative initiatives with other agencies and stakeholder organizations at the federal, state, and local levels
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
six years of health or human services administrative or professional experience
three years at a supervisory or managerial level
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the general experience
A Doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience
Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the college degree
Preferred
Knowledge of best practices in reducing morbidity and mortality among people who use drugs
Experience developing policies and programs related to behavioral health, substance use, and/or overdose and infectious disease prevention
Experience managing public health grant programs
