Intern - Nursing (Summer)
State of South Dakota is offering a summer internship for nursing students, approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing. The intern will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist with nursing assessments, interventions, and patient care within a treatment unit.

Responsibilities
Assist the nursing team with nursing assessments and nursing interventions through the use of nursing diagnosis and care plans in a patient treatment unit
Administer and monitor response to medication and treatment
Record and report pertinent medical behavioral data
Complete special reports and forms according to policies and procedures
Perform procedures taught within the curriculum of your nursing education program under direct supervision
Qualification
Required
Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester
Applicant must be enrolled in an approved accredited RN program
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
