PR and Communications Coordinator

They are seeking a PR and Communications Coordinator to manage editorial content, oversee e-newsletters, and support public relations efforts while assisting the marketing team with various tasks.

Responsibilities

Manage association blog, including scheduling content, working with contributors, editing content to meet publication standards, and publishing
Manage, develop and distribute multiple e-newsletters, distributed monthly (three a month at peak)
Write and distribute press releases making major association announcements
Writing and editing assistance, including association news items, member profiles, event scripts, and education session descriptions
Disseminate association news and information to its stakeholders
Manage press contacts and database; support press contacts at association events
Collaborate with the association’s news site Hotel Online; assist with writing and general publication support
Graphic design: design corresponding digital and print graphics for publications, promotions and digital communications
Maintain keen awareness and understanding of association activities to help publicize information across appropriate channels
Assists with website content maintenance
Design direct email promotions to members and other stakeholders
General department assistance
Maintain project deadlines in the project management software
Fulfills stakeholders’ requests and distribute materials promptly
As assigned, may attend and perform pre-determined responsibilities at association’s meetings
Assists other departments with projects as instructed by chief marketing officer

Required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including knowledge of leading style guidelines (i.e. AP Style)
Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and other leading graphic design programs
Working knowledge of web design and HTML
Experience in HTML e-mail development
Graphic design skills, including digital graphics and information design

Preferred

Preference to candidates with previous experience working with an association or event planning
