Responsibilities
Greet and screen individuals entering the shelter location, following site-specific policies and procedures
Provide customer service by assisting clients, visitors, and staff with inquiries and directions in a professional manner
Carry out security-related procedures, including monitoring access points and verifying credentials as required
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols
Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior
Observe and report any unusual activity, incidents, or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel
Support emergency response activities as directed, maintaining clear communication with team members and site staff
Qualification
Required
Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience
Must be at least 21 years of age
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred
CPR certification is preferred
A guard card or license is preferred
