Sr. Mechanical Inspector

Responsibilities
Ability to meet productivity and quality goals
Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and complex blueprints
Inspect products using precision measuring tools (calipers, thread gages, go, no-go gages etc.)
Operate Micro-Hite, Romer Arm and Optical Comparator measurement equipment
Perform Optical Comparator inspections using existing inspection programs
Prepare detailed inspection reports
Perform incoming quality inspection on electro/mechanical parts in accordance with engineering blueprint drawings and Mil-Standard requirements
Read and interpret vendor certifications for completeness and accuracy in accordance with imposed quality clauses
Perform complex inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings
Inspect products, components, subassemblies, and/or systems to ensure conformance to requirements
Generate non-conforming material reports (NMRs)
Must be able to interpret manufacturing work and quality inspection instructions
Prepares product verification documentation in accordance with departmental procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel based software
Qualification
Required
Under minimal supervision, performs mechanical inspection with precision in execution and meticulous attention to detail
Performs inspections of complex machined parts for conformance to specifications
Maintains accurate records
Familiar with AQL Single/Double Sampling Plan, use of measurement tools such as, Calipers, Micrometers, Height/Thread gages Micro-Hite, Optical Comparator etc
Knowledge and understanding of Mil-Standards, practices and procedures
Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Responsible for the acceptance of conforming and non-conforming product
Must be able to strictly adhere to all quality control processes and procedures

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
Technical/Trade school required
2-year associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar field preferred
In-depth understanding of relevant manufacturing standards (such as IPC-A-610) or common mechanical techniques (such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices)
Ability to use various measurement devices (calipers, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges, etc.) to verify mechanical part compliance
Experience reading mechanical drawings and able to verify parts dimensions against drawing requirements
Experience using a Micro-Hite, Romer Arm and Optical comparator or other complex inspection systems is desired
Prepares product verification documentation in accordance with departmental procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel based software
Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain DOD Security clearance
Must be a US citizen and eligible to obtain DOD Security clearance
Preferred
2-year associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar field preferred
Experience using a Micro-Hite, Romer Arm and Optical comparator or other complex inspection systems is desired
