JX Advanced Metals USA, Inc. is seeking an Inspection & Test Associate who is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, or equipment meet quality standards and specifications. The role involves performing inspections and tests on various items, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

Computes angles, radii, and other unspecified dimensions of workpiece

Positions workpiece on surface plate and lays out reference points and center lines on parts

Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, and other specifications

Tests units for fit of moving parts and mechanical functioning

Performs a portion of the job in a clean room environment

Tests parts for hardness

Inspects, adjusts, and verifies accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications

Examines defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends changes or modifications

Determines salvage ability of defective items

Measures surface finish of part. Inspects first run parts and assemblies

Writes report regarding inspection and testing results

Draws enlarged part details for use on optical comparator

Inspects parts for flaws or internal fissures with ultrasonic equipment or fluorescent lights

Performs minor equipment preventative maintenance

Cleans work area

Required

One year certificate from college or technical school and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
