Responsibilities

Become a statewide subject-matter expert in state service and seniority calculations
Assist others in navigating personnel questions and ensuring employees receive proper credit for their service

Required

Strong analytical and mathematical skills to review employment history records, calculate state service and seniority, and interpret complex data
Ability to research, interpret, and apply complex laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to state service, seniority, and personnel management
Experience reviewing and interpreting employment history records, including familiarity with State Controller's Office systems such as PIMS or similar personnel/payroll data systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, including the ability to perform calculations, use formulas, manage datasets, and prepare clear and accurate documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence and reports
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising sound judgment and maintaining a high degree of professionalism
