Senior Fire Alarm and Security Installation Technician

Responsibilities

Lead and execute installation of security systems (CCTV, access control, IDS) and assist with fire alarm systems as needed
Interpret blueprints and update as-built documentation accurately
Ensure all equipment and materials are staged and ready for installation
Identify and resolve field modifications or scope gaps to maintain project integrity
Verify compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local codes for security and fire systems
Conduct on-site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices through training and certifications
Maintain clear communication with internal teams, contractors, and clients for smooth project execution
Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance on complex installations

Required

4+ years of experience in the low-voltage industry, with a strong focus on security systems (CCTV, access control, IDS)
Fire alarm experience is a plus
High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred
Strong knowledge of security and fire system codes and standards
Excellent time management, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Valid Florida Fire Alarm License (FASA/BASA) or ability to obtain it
Understanding of NEC and NFPA requirements
Proficiency with technology tools and system programming
Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record

Preferred

BS degree or Technical School Certification in electronics, security systems, or related field
Manufacturer certifications for major security systems
NICET certification for fire alarm systems
