Heavy Civil Project Manager

They are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil construction projects, ensuring compliance, safety, and profitability throughout all phases of project management.

Responsibilities

Lead all phases of project management from pre-construction through closeout
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, cost controls, and progress tracking
Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Engineers, Estimators, and field teams to ensure safe and efficient execution
Review and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure compliance and constructability
Manage subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor relationships
Prepare RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation
Monitor project performance, production rates, and financial metrics to ensure profitability and schedule adherence
Conduct regular site visits to review progress, safety, quality, and adherence to project plans
Lead progress meetings with owners, DOT representatives, municipalities, consultants, and other stakeholders
Solve field challenges through effective communication, planning, and resource coordination
Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements

Required

5-10 years of proven project management experience in heavy civil construction
Strong background in Road/Bridge, utilities, or earthwork projects
Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contracts
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and cost controls

Preferred

Proficiency with project management and scheduling software preferred (P6, MS Project, HCSS, Procore, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered
