West Star Aviation, LLC is seeking a Summer Aircraft Maintenance Trainee who aspires to become a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician. The role involves performing mechanical tasks, troubleshooting aircraft systems, and assisting in inspections and repairs in a safety-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems

Removal and installation of panels and components

Learning to troubleshoot and problem solve aircraft system/component issues

De-fueling aircraft

Engine removal/installations

Operating ground support equipment

Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components

Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiing

Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling

Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases

Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Required

A High school diploma or equivalent

Strong mechanical aptitude

Self-starter attitude

Ability to adapt to standards of conduct

Ability to work as part of a team in a safety-oriented environment

Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases

Willingness to learn and receive feedback

Ability to hold oneself accountable and take responsibility

Attendance at work every day as scheduled

Notification to supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work

Reliable transportation to get to work each and every day

Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties

Maintain customer oriented work habits

Preferred

Being enrolled in an Airframe and Powerplant program

A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport

Prior general mechanical knowledge
