Responsibilities

Lead newsroom-wide daily digital coverage and live‑stream planning, from quick turns and breaking news to enterprise reporting and special coverage

Prepare and deliver analytics reports on a daily and monthly basis to inform strategic digital direction

Collaborate across the newsroom, sales, marketing and production departments at KXAN, as well as with other Nexstar stations and Nexstar corporate on projects and initiatives

Partner with the investigative team on digital presentation and execution of special reports

Lead digital coverage plans for major events

Coach digital team and newsroom on digital-first best practices

Required

Proven leadership in digital journalism with a track record growing local audience and engagement

Expert at writing and editing for web; headline testing and packaging that drive clicks without compromising integrity

Strong news judgment; fast, first and accurate in breaking news; meticulous on enterprise/investigative edits

Advanced proficiency with analytics, especially Adobe Analytics; familiarity with Chartbeat a plus

Working knowledge of SEO and AP Style; comfort coaching reporters on both

Operational fluency in WordPress/CMS workflows; bonus for HTML/CSS and basic image/video tools (e.g., Photoshop and Premiere)

Experience with live streaming and OTT workflows, push alerts, newsletters, and social publishing

Excellent communicator and collaborator; organized multi‑tasker who thrives under deadline pressure

Positive people leader who provides regular, constructive feedback and fosters an inclusive, high‑trust team culture

6–10+ years in digital news; 3–5+ years leading digital teams, ideally including investigative or special projects workflows

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
