Responsibilities

Defend clients in a variety of litigated matters, including general liability, commercial disputes, construction injury/defects, and employment litigation

Handle all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances

Prepare and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and procedural motions

Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

Develop case strategies and provide legal analysis to clients, insurers, and risk management teams

Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations

Collaborate with internal legal teams, experts, and outside counsel as needed

Stay up-to-date on California laws and evolving legal trends affecting insurance defense litigation
