PROPERTY TAX SPECIALIST II, Tax Office

Tarrant County College is seeking a Property Tax Specialist II to perform property tax research and assist with the assessment and collection of ad valorem taxes. The role involves communicating with various stakeholders, resolving tax-related issues, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Carries out assessment and collection functions associated with property tax billing and payments, delinquent payments, bankruptcy payments, special and rollback calculations and payments, and refunds and tax account research
Extensively communicates and interacts with other tax office and appraisal district staff, businesses, title and mortgage companies, and individual taxpayers to perform duties
Resolves Tax problems in person or over the phone
Researches Tax questions and provides appropriate response
Answers questions from clerks
Responsible for accurate files and filing
Ensures accuracy of funds collected and posting of transactions to accounts
Accountable for funds collected
Will be required to rotate responsibilities on a routine basis
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or GED
Two (2) years full-time of general office or retail work experience

Preferred

Experience with electronic payment processing
Knowledge of credit card and e-check processing
Experience with business machines
Knowledge of property tax processing
