Responsibilities
Define and maintain architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines for CMS platforms and web applications
Architect new CMS implementations from discovery through deployment and ongoing maintenance
Lead technical design and review of custom modules, plugins, APIs, and third-party integrations
Ensure all solutions are secure, scalable, performant, maintainable, and accessible (including WCAG compliance)
Collaborate with UX/UI designers, content strategists, and development teams to align architecture with user experience goals
Oversee CMS migrations and re-platforming, ensuring data accuracy, SEO continuity, and smooth cutover
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to front-end and back-end developers, enforcing code quality and consistency
Evaluate emerging CMS tools, frameworks, hosting environments, and cloud platforms to enhance capabilities, including AI-enabled technologies
Participate in project planning, estimation, and client technical discussions; document architecture and integration decisions
Support post-launch performance optimization, enhancements, and security updates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on experience architecting and developing CMS-based websites, ideally with Drupal and/or WordPress
Strong experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures, including integrations, APIs, and database design
Proficiency with PHP, React, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, REST APIs, and Git/version control
Experience with CMS migrations and re-platforming, including SEO and content mapping
Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring developers and conducting code reviews
Familiarity with cloud hosting environments, managed CMS hosting platforms, and modern deployment processes
Preferred
