Responsibilities
Greets patients and families upon arrival at the hospital. Notifies registration of patient’s arrival at the hospital
Obtains cell phone numbers of waiting family members
Perform lobby rounding to ensure patients are kept aware of their wait time expectations
Writes descriptions of family members
Provides resource information as needed (food, lodging, stores, etc.)
Works with cardiologists and cardio-vascular surgeons in updating patients’ progress to family members
Greets visitors and oversees visitor’s sign-in and sign-out processing -- (notifies the appropriate parties of their arrival and provides a visitor or vendor badge as needed)
Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that the patient and the patients’ families’ needs are met
Knows Code colors and assists per disaster policies
Oversees Lobby – contacts necessary resources for all event occurrences
Oversees distribution of newspapers, mail, deliveries to patient
Handles the forwarding or return of patient mail
Accepts deliveries and/or directs delivery personnel to the proper location
Performs all necessary office and other duties opening and closing procedures as needed
Maintains departmental records and keeps information sheets updated
Wheels emergency patients to the emergency registration area (volunteers only)
Helps patient units with patient discharges (volunteers only)
Other duties as assigned

Required
High School Graduate / GED
