Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is seeking a Janitor Supervisor responsible for overseeing janitorial services. The role involves supervising a team of janitors, making assignments, ensuring supply maintenance, and maintaining compliance with EEO policies.

Responsibilities

Through subordinate leaders supervises a group of Janitors performing a variety of cleaning duties such as sweeping waxing buffing stripping scrubbing vacuuming NEX stores and offices empties garbage dusts office furniture shampoos rugs cleans air vents and mirrors disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls lavatories and urinals cleans water fountains washes walls glass doors and main partitions sweeps parking lots and cleans sidewalks of adjoining buildings

Makes assignments and reassignments as necessary answers questions of subordinates grants leave and prepares work performance reviews

Makes recommendations regarding adequate staffing for area of responsibility coordinates with supervisor on matters relating to hiring discipline and terminations resolves or makes recommendation for the resolutions of problems relating thereto

Is responsible for the maintenance of adequate supplies and equipment and initiates procurement of supplies and equipment in keeping with the Price Agreement Bulletins

Makes daily inspection of areas and follows prescribed maintenance program requirements

Insure the principles and policies of the Equal Employment Opportunity Program EEO are carried out in performing supervisory duties

Required

Must be a U.S. citizen or have lived in the U.S. for three years

Supervises approximately 13-30 janitors in grade NA-2

Responsible for providing cleaning and janitorial services

Makes assignments and reassignments as necessary

Answers questions of subordinates

Grants leave and prepares work performance reviews

Makes recommendations regarding adequate staffing for area of responsibility

Coordinates with supervisor on matters relating to hiring, discipline, and terminations

Resolves or makes recommendations for the resolutions of problems relating thereto
