As a Junior Backend Developer, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems for their OTT Video SaaS platform, working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to build scalable services and explore emerging Web3 technologies.

Responsibilities
Contribute to server-side development using Java and/or Kotlin
Help build and maintain backend services, APIs, and business logic
Assist with implementing microservices and cloud-native patterns under guidance
Work closely with senior backend engineers, frontend developers, and product teams
Support the integration of user-facing features with backend services
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality
Help optimize backend components for performance and reliability
Assist with implementing and maintaining data storage solutions (SQL/NoSQL)
Learn best practices around data integrity, availability, and security
Gain exposure to containerization and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
Qualification
Required
1–4 years of backend development experience (including internships, co-ops, or projects)
Foundational knowledge of Java or Kotlin
Basic understanding of REST APIs, backend services, and databases
Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
Awareness of smart contracts, NFTs, or decentralized systems
Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn
Preferred
Experience with live or VOD video streaming platforms
Familiarity with multimedia codecs (AVC, HEVC, VP9) and DRM systems (PlayReady, Widevine)
Knowledge of Kotlin, C++, and blockchain/Web3 technologies
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a 4-yr accredited institution globally ranked in the top 500 universities
