Responsibilities
Lead development and execution of high-complexity data science and machine learning models
Translate business needs into well-defined analytical and modeling problems
Select appropriate algorithms, training datasets, and evaluation techniques
Build, train, validate, and deploy models for real-world operational use
Communicate insights, model results, and implications clearly to business and executive stakeholders
Balance analytics value, modeling approaches, and technology choices with a bias toward action
Mentor junior data scientists and collaborate within cross-functional Scrum teams
Develop forecasting, capacity, demand, and expenditure models
Assess business and operational impacts of modeling assumptions and methodologies
Partner with business leaders to drive performance and data-driven decision-making
Create process documentation, business objects, and analytics workflows
Manage multiple complex projects with clear schedules and delivery milestones
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience building and deploying ML models
Strong understanding of feature engineering, model evaluation, and optimization
Experience with forecasting, Bayesian methods, and graph analytics
Strong foundation in probability, statistics, linear algebra, and statistical inference
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL (Scala a plus)
Experience with Pandas, Scikit-learn, Spark, or similar frameworks
Experience with Jupyter, Zeppelin, or other data science notebooks
Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure
Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics workflows
Ability to present complex insights clearly through dashboards, graphics, and executive-level presentations
Strong stakeholder engagement and storytelling skills
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Applied Sciences, or related field
PLUS 8+ years of relevant experience
OR Master's degree with 6+ years of experience
OR PhD with 3+ years of experience
Minimum 5 years of data modeling experience
Preferred
Utility or energy industry experience
Familiarity with Palantir Foundry
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
Understanding of project and program management principles
