Responsibilities
Govern personal injury case files from inception to completion
Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly
Manage a team of personal injury paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary
Record and update the status of all case files in the case management system
Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information
Manage a full caseload of pre-litigation and, where applicable, litigation personal injury matters
Conduct client intakes and maintain regular client communication
Draft and review demand letters, pleadings, and settlement agreements
Analyze medical records and prepare case summaries
Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel
Represent clients in mediations, depositions, and court hearings as needed
Ensure cases move forward efficiently and comply with applicable deadlines
Converse with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information
Investigate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly
Appear as legal counsel on the clients’ behalf at mediations, trials, hearings, depositions, and litigation
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is vital
A bachelor's degree and a J.D. degree is required
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Tennessee (Required)
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Proficient in legal case management software and Microsoft Office
Preferred
1+ year of experience in personal injury law preferred, but not required
Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired
