Responsibilities

Based upon your desired career path, projects may include many aspects of applied software development including avionics software, embedded software, enterprise software, integrated system test, controls, machine learning, robotics, and avionics hardware
Specific duties are subject to our business unit objectives. Some examples include:
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications (with a focus on avionics and flight systems)
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, verify, and validate safety-critical, real-time embedded software for launch vehicle systems
Participate in full software lifecycle: requirements analysis, implementation, verification, documentation, and system integration
Write and review code primarily in C, C++, and Python for embedded and application environments
Create and maintain tools and infrastructure to support efficient build, debugging, testing, deployment, and automation
Ensure reliability, quality, and safety in all delivered software
Review and update software requirements and designs for testability and verifiability

Required

Able to start working full-time by the end of 2025
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, or related field (earned within the last year or by Fall 2025)
Programming experience in at least one major language used here: C, C++, or Python
Experience (through coursework, co-ops, internships, or projects) in software development, problem solving, and debugging
Exposure to software verification, test planning/execution, or automated testing
Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities
Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction
Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
Passion for Blue's Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve

Preferred

Advanced degree (MS or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Experience with real-time embedded systems, safety-critical software, or flight/avionics software
Knowledge of hardware interfaces and protocols (TCP/IP, UART, SPI, etc.)
Experience building, testing, and deploying automation frameworks
Background with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern source management (Git, etc.)
Experience with distributed applications, computer networking, Qt/QML, or similar technologies
Participation in academic competitions, hackathons, research projects, or relevant industry roles
Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in dynamic environments
