PERSI Training Specialist

The State of Idaho is seeking a PERSI Training Specialist to provide exceptional retirement and PERSI-related training for members, employers, and staff. The role involves refining training materials, conducting workshops, and developing strategies to engage newer and younger members while traveling throughout Idaho.

Responsibilities

Refine outreach and training materials, including workshops and presentations for PERSI members and stakeholders; you'll make sure we're making the right impression and you'll make it stick!
Collaborate with Training Team to develop and execute statewide strategy designed to create a face-to-face relationship with our newer and younger members. You'll be lauding the value of the PERSI benefits to all kinds of public workers – so be ready to relate
Conduct virtual and on-location, in-person retirement and financial planning workshops for PERSI staff and members throughout the state
Prepare quarterly analysis and reporting presentation that identifies and evaluates your successes and highlights the plans/strategies you're going to implement going forward to build on that success
Plan to travel a lot. You will be on-the-road for all or part of at least two weeks out of each month, connecting face-to-face with employers, newer and younger members, as well as those nearing retirement
Learn about, and talk about, financial planning and saving for retirement
Conduct other duties as assigned

Required

Good knowledge of training theory - This is typically gained by the completion of one upper division college-level course (at least three credits) which covered training theory OR by completing 40 hours of formal training in skills which include adult learning theory, developing performance objectives, course design and evaluation methods and presentation skills OR with at least one year of full-time work experience that required knowledge of training theory
Experience performing needs assessments, developing training objectives, designing and developing coursework, and evaluating the training - This is typically gained with at least one year of experience performing needs assessments, developing training objectives, designing and developing coursework, and evaluating the training
Experience presenting training to adult groups in structured learning situations - This is typically gained with at least one year of full-time work experience that required presenting training to adult groups in structured learning situations
Experience using a variety of training methods - This is typically gained with at least one year of full-time work experience that required using three different training methods
