Responsibilities
Completes all required documentation accurately, promptly, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements
Consults when appropriate and refers patients as necessary to dental specialists and/or medical providers
Instructs and clinically supervises dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other Para-professional personnel
Participates in developing and reviewing dental treatment protocols, audit procedures, and quality assurance procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Provides dental care to patients, including root canal therapy, restorative (operative and fixed and removal prosthodontics), and oral surgery (simple and surgical)
Uses resources efficiently; cost-effectively practices dentistry
Qualification
Required
Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advanced Resuscitation Training
DEA license
Graduate of an accredited Dental School
A license from the State of California as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) is required
Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required. Must have a valid California driver's license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver's license within ten days of establishing residency
Preferred
General practice residency or equivalent of 2 years clinical experience preferred
Membership in the American Academy of General Dentistry is preferred
Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred
