Payroll Administrator
Transdev North America is a leader in mobility, operating transportation systems across the U.S. The Payroll Administrator will manage payroll processing for 1000 employees, ensuring compliance and smooth operations, while supporting the HR team with payroll-related tasks.

Responsibilities
Independently manage all aspects of payroll processing for 1000 employees, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, union dues, and other deductions
Maintain and update payroll systems (ADP, VDS – internal system) with new hires, terminations, pay changes, and other updates
Make timely decisions to resolve payroll issues and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and collective bargaining agreements
Review and approve timecards, direct deposits, final paychecks, and related payroll transactions
Train and support an HR payroll backup to ensure seamless coverage when needed
Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and reports; support internal and external audits
Process related accounts payable tasks, including pension, insurance, and union payments
Act as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries, providing clear, timely communication to employees
Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes and procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
Minimum of 1 years administration, and payroll experience
Ability to make sound, timely decisions and resolve payroll issues independently
Must be self-lead and able to work with minimal instructions provided except when necessary
Ability to train and guide others effectively
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Ability to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to details
Must be able to work Sunday shift when needed and or be flexible with work schedules as required
Preferred
Higher education preferred
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification a plus
Strong knowledge of payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred) and related software (Excel, VDS, or similar)
