Responsibilities
Provide training and ongoing support to facility Business Office Managers (BOMs) to ensure accurate and efficient billing practices
Prepare and process claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing (manual and electronic)
Resolve claims from initial submission through payment, including addressing denials and rejections
Assist BOMs with collections and ensure timely, accurate month-end close processes
Audit facility billing and revenue cycle workflows to verify adherence to company standards and identify opportunities for improvement
Participate in monthly A/R reviews and other assigned duties
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for critical processes such as triple-check reviews and resident trust fund management
Lead facility-level revenue cycle initiatives, including staff education, admission coordination, and social work support as it relates to business office only
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of billing or business office experience in long-term care
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing regulations
Familiarity with UB04 forms and electronic billing processes
Experience with claim denials, appeals, and resolution
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
