Research Fellow - Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Home and Community Care
SE Health is a not-for-profit social enterprise advancing health with heart. They are seeking a Research Fellow specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Home and Community Care to lead health services research studies and contribute to the development of research proposals and protocols. The role involves implementing rigorous research study protocols, promoting projects, and supporting team initiatives.

Responsibilities
Implement high quality, rigorous, applied health services research study protocols with support from Research Scientists and/or the Scientific Director, including: obtaining research ethics approval, recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and knowledge mobilization activities
Ensure high quality data collection and analysis in research studies in the SE Research Centre, with support from Research Associates
Promote all projects within the SE Research Centre research program both internally and externally with other researchers, academic audiences, health and social care specialists/ providers, innovators and business leaders and the public
Support the development of research study protocols for high quality, rigorous, applied health services research studies in collaboration with Research Scientists and/or the Scientific Director
Lead development of reports, project summaries, briefing notes, infographics, data visualizations and social media content to support messaging and knowledge mobilization of study results to a wide range of audiences
Lead writing activities for academic publication with support from Research Scientists and/or the Scientific Director
Monitor conference opportunities, develop and submit conference abstracts, and support development and execution of presentations in a variety of formats to academic, practitioner and decision-maker audiences
Support Research Associates on strong project management of scientific research studies including all project documentation
Lead SE Research Centre team initiatives to improve/ maintain collaboration, efficiency and/or engagement
Qualification
Required
PhD (awarded within the last five years) in a relevant discipline, such as Health Services Research, Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Rehabilitation Science, Data Science or a related field, from a recognized university
Strong background in quantitative research methods, including statistical analysis of observational or administrative data, with demonstrated ability to employ a broader range of data collection and analysis methods
Demonstrates a strong interest and/or experience in big data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications within healthcare
Operates effectively both independently and as a collaborative contributor within multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex research environments and competing priorities
Solves problems proactively and strategically when executing research protocols
Communicates with clarity and precision through exceptional written and verbal skills, with experience producing content for diverse audiences, including academic publication
Maintains compliance with ethical standards by holding Tri-Council Policy Statement (2): Ethical Conduct of Research Involving Humans certification
Integrates equity considerations into research through completion of Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+) training
Preferred
Understands ethical considerations and governance requirements surrounding the use of AI and big data in healthcare settings, particularly in home care or community contexts
Proficiency in statistical or programming software, including SPSS, R and SAS
Mentors and guides others in an academic or research settings to build capacity and foster growth
Experience or interest in community-based and/or participatory research
Builds strong relationships and resolves challenges through diplomacy and exceptional interpersonal skills
