This role involves providing hands-on desktop and systems support while maintaining mission-critical technology across a large, distributed environment.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in both stand‑alone and client‑server environments, including Microsoft Server, Defense Message Systems, and other authorized platforms

Support hardware and software for network services, storage devices, and servers

Integrate and troubleshoot multiple information systems in a networked environment

Perform hardware upgrades, system repairs, and issue resolution to maintain mission readiness

Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, switches, transmission media, and server hardware/software

Ensure proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software for optimal network performance

Install, optimize, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN) and Base Area Networks (BAN)

Work with technologies such as IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT

Provide Tier 1 desktop support for escalated issues from the Enterprise Service Desk, including imaging, Windows 10 deployments, software rollouts, and hardware fulfillment for Marine Corps personnel

Report directly to IT Specialist Sr. for guidance, escalation, and professional development
