Responsibilities
Architect, design, and integrate electronic systems for a platform, including electromechanical actuators, power distribution, communication interfaces, and subsystems involving high-density, impedance-controlled, low-noise RF signaling
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of electronic designs, defining system architectures and interfaces across motors, sensors, embedded computing, and safety-critical electronics from concept through validation
Collaborate closely with mechanical, controls, and systems engineers, as well as industrial designers, to manage cross-disciplinary tradeoffs and ensure cohesive system integration
Support manufacturing, assembly, and test builds, including documentation, troubleshooting, and design refinement
Provide technical input and system-level guidance for the integration of specialized sensing electronics, coordinating with external experts as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
5+ years of experience designing and integrating electronic systems for robotics, distributed systems, or complex electromechanical products
Demonstrated proficiency with PCB schematic capture and board layout using professional eCAD tools (e.g., Altium, Allegro, or equivalent)
Experience with network and fieldbus protocols such as EtherCAT and CAN, as well as embedded serial protocols including SPI and I²C
Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation using standard lab instrumentation
Experience designing flexible printed circuits, specifying connectors and cabling, and addressing EMI/ESD and signal integrity challenges
Preferred
Experience developing electronics for medical devices, including familiarity with IEC 60601-1 (or experience in other regulated, safety-critical environments such as aerospace)
Familiarity with system-level documentation such as functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
Working knowledge of mechanical CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) to support collaborative integration with mechanical designs
Experience supporting manufacturing transfer, supplier engagement, and early production builds
Experience with power electronics, power distribution, and battery systems
