Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of problems involving the integration of suppliers' products and services into Opco's manufacturing processes
Investigate and analyze technical issues relating to quality, tooling and supplier manufacturing
Provide technical consultation to internal and external suppliers for the selection of manufacturing processes
Review validation reports and/or first article submissions for new supplied components
Determine supplier performance targets and review supplier on-going manufacturing performance against set targets
Assist in coordinating across technical disciplines within the organization, suppliers, joint venture partners and/or OEM partners
Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Develop and track project and action plans Monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to Supplier Quality Engineering (i.e. metrics, data entry, log parts)
[Potential] Domestic travel to supplier sites to facilitate problem solving and perform on-site audits. Up to 25% travel

Required

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline
0-3 years of relevant experience, primarily focused on the design, manufacturing, and quality of component parts
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a minimum)
Strong problem solving skills and familiarity with techniques such as 5 why's, 8D, pareto analysis, Design of Experiments, DMAIC, and others
Basic understanding of statistical tools and their application to manufacturing processes (ie, process capability studies, establishing process control limits, etc)
Self-starter with a sense of urgency to resolve issues and complete projects Works well with others and is able to coordinate efforts with own and other departments
Able to operate independently with limited oversight
High attention to detail

Preferred

Experience working in an ISO regulated manufacturing facility or ISO standards is a plus
Training and experience in the use of GD&T
Understanding of measurement methods
Experienced with Oracle
